Aftercare

The days, weeks, and months after successfully completing treatment at an inpatient facility will be difficult. You will encounter temptations, outside influences and other factors that will challenge your sobriety. With the right support system, you will be able to overcome these challenges and remain sober. The aftercare services provided by Soul Detox and Recovery will help you as you return to life after rehabilitation.

What is the Goal of Aftercare Treatment?

The goal of aftercare treatment is to provide you with guidance, support, and access to valuable resources that will help you learn to adapt to sober living. Before leaving rehab, Soul Detox and Recovery will help arrange for aftercare treatment for you. We will assess your needs and help you determine what type of aftercare treatment or programs will benefit you the most.

Some of the various types of aftercare treatment and programs that may be used to help you maintain sobriety after rehab include:

  • Sober living
  • Transitional living
  • Medical evaluations
  • Follow-up therapy – one-on-one counseling, group counseling, and family counseling
  • Alumni support or peer support groups – find support and guidance from others who have successfully overcome addiction or recently completed rehabilitation

Can You Continue to Recover from Addiction without Aftercare Services?

While it is technically possible that you could continue the addiction recovery process without the help of aftercare treatment or aftercare programs, it is not recommended. Many individuals who left rehab without arranging for aftercare treatment end up relapsing.

There are a number of reasons why aftercare treatment helps with the recovery process. Some of those reasons include:

  • Prevents you from falling into old habits – you will be presented with opportunities to use techniques and skills you learned in rehab in real life settings. Aftercare services allow you to evaluate how well you handled situations and determine what skills/techniques you may need to improve in order to help you continue to live a sober life
