Welcome to SOUL Detox and Recovery. SOUL is pleased to announce the opening of our newest treatment residence, located in North Hollywood, CA. Both luxurious and comfortable, we offer the availability of every service necessary for the cultivation of a lasting recovery lifestyle, free from addiction to drugs and alcohol.

According the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), between 60-80% of all those who attend treatment relapse in the days and weeks following discharge from a thirty-day residential rehabilitation intervention. Anecdotally, after 12 years working in the field as Supervisor, Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Personal Recovery Coach, it saddens and frustrates me to report that figure as being closer to 90%. The reasons that lead nine out of every ten treatment patients back to active addiction so soon after participating in the detox and rehabilitation process are myriad. Among them are the limitations of managed care, the prioritization of profits over people’s lives, inadequately trained and poorly chosen clinical staff, failure to address the co-occurring mental health disorders that are present in almost everyone who is seeking relief from addiction, the de-personalization of the treatment process, and a failure on the part of the treatment industry to prepare the completing participant for discharge, and to provided subsequent aftercare.

While acknowledging that a business without responsible fiscal practices cannot help anyone, we at SOUL recognize and prioritize the necessity that every patient be treated as an individual, with unique needs and life circumstances specific to them, alone. Every resident will receive a thorough Mental Health Assessment, and work with our Medical Director to eliminate dangerous and ineffective medications, implementing new, impactful medication management protocols that will help facilitate stabilization of their psychological and emotional wellness, and recovery from the use of addictive substances. As well, each of our residents, working collaboratively with our team of highly experienced and dedicated clinicians and medical professionals, will cultivate a Personal Treatment and Recovery Plan. In the past, I have personally witnessed the utilization of boilerplate treatment plans and “one-size-fits-all” programming. At SOUL Detox and Recovery, our residents will choose their goals for the future, and we will work side-by-side with each of them to help determine the best path toward those goals. While in residence at SOUL, we will include all the factors of healthy living, such as daily exercise and a balanced diet, meditation, yoga, creative arts therapy, daily attendance at community support groups in the area, access to personal electronic devices (with some limitations), and ample time to relax and reflect. Finally, (and the importance of this cannot be overstated), upon completion of treatment At SOUL Detox and Recovery, each resident will do so with a robust Aftercare Plan that includes any or all of the following: Outpatient Treatment, Sober Living Residence, One-on-One Recovery Coaching, Individual Therapy, and any other services or activities deemed necessary for the continuation of a lasting recovery lifestyle.
